Be School Ready

After 2015's successful pilot, the PTA Welcome Pack programme returned in 2016 as part of our wider Be School Ready campaign, which helped to encourage parents to have a voice in strengthening their children’s education.

The first day of school can be just as daunting for parents as children, especially when they’ve never experienced it before. Getting involved in a PTA is a fantastic opportunity to feel part of the school community and is particularly valuable for parents who have children starting school for the first time. Be School Ready gave parents some much-needed support, and showed them that no matter how much time they can offer, their involvement in their child's education need not end at the school gates.

Welcome Packs were crammed with advice for new parents. You can see excerpts on the Be School Ready section, including exclusive healthy snack ideas from Bake Off’s Nadiya Hussain and Celebrity Masterchef’s Kimberly Wyatt; celebrity parenting tips and exclusive prizes and offers.

The packs were created to support PTAs in engaging new parents.
