About PTA-UK

PTA-UK is the national charity representing over 13,750 PTAs across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Our charitable objects are:

To advance education by encouraging the fullest co-operation between home and school, education authorities, central government and all other interested parties and bodies.

To fulfil these objects PTA-UK has five key strategic objectives for the period 2011 - 2014:

  • Develop partnerships to significantly extend the benefits offered to PTA-UK members;
  • Work with stakeholder organisations to promote PTA-UK as the premier provider of advice and guidance for PTAs;
  • Rebrand the organisation to increase awareness;
  • Exploit social media to ensure PTA-UK retains its position as the leading network of PTAs; and
  • Enhance the skills within the organisation to deliver these strategies.

PTA-UK is both a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity and is, at its heart, a membership organisation which exists to serve its members by providing support, guidance and practical resources for PTAs.  A team of eight Head Office based staff and eleven field based advisers are led by PTA-UK's Chief Executive, David Butler.  The charity governs itself in accordance to its memorandum and articles of association which were last reviewed in October 2011.
