Understanding education

To confidently support your child at school, it helps to be familiar with the educational landscape, the curriculum and what's expected of your child.  The school should share some of this information with you, but in a quickly evolving educational landscape, our guides will also help you keep up-to-date.

Please note: education is devolved to each of the countries that make up the United Kingdom, and the systems in each nation do vary. The UK Government is responsible for education in England, with the Scottish Government, Welsh Government and Northern Ireland Executive being responsible for education in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland respectively.  See information specific to Wales and to Northern Ireland.
